MLB Manager 2016 App Reviews

Oh man

While it isnt any different than last year (- 1 star), the reason I give this game 2 stars is that most of us buy it as a baseball sim, but with broken stats, I lose any ability to play. Example: My pitcher gives up a 3 run home run. In the box score, hes listed as giving up 3 earned runs. His ERA: 0.00.

Good game

Great baseball sim. Only complaint is that it is really no different than 2015 version. Not really a complaint. Just an observation.

Last year 2.0

Not a bad thing though, since last years version was ultra-addictive and gave me many hours of hardcore simulation. My biggest gripe is with some of the player ratings and potentials are a little off-base, so to speak. Especially for the non-premium prospects. Other than that, its great.

More roster flexibility would be awesome

This years version plays great-Ive had no performance problems. I still need to buy the other seasons, and Im holding out hope that youll be able to mix teams from multiple years in a custom league. Someday, my dream will be realized...

Roster update

Im obsessed with this game, but after several years there should be some major updates to talk about. There are none. This is the EXACT same game as last year but with new rosters. Theres no iCloud saves, no visual update, no new major features at all. Im sure this doesnt make them a lot of money, the desktop client is their money maker, but they would actually make more money if they made huge updated. The ai is still weird. Players with virtually no speed routinely go from first to third on a single. Pitchers still get hits frequently, still tons of walks from pitchers that never walk batters. I just wish there was at least ONE new thing to talk about other than updated rosters.

Cant put it down!!!!

Great fun for any baseball fan.

Amazing

I couldnt have asked for a better baseball simulator. This is exactly what I was looking for. Now all we need is an NFL manager.

Fun

This is so cool. The app is for real baseball fans. This is my 4th season using it.

Awesome strategy baseball game

Only reason its not a 5 star is no graphics

Much needed

I love the game and this cures the itch.

Cant. Stop. Playing.

Its so satisfying making moves you *know* your team shouldve made.

Great

Great gameplay addictive and easy to navigate

Good Fun

Very realistic, or it must be. Instead of screaming at live games about how the team should have been managed, I make the calls. That said, were in 1st place!

Still the best

Like most reviewers, I would have been glad to see some added features, but what the heck: this is still the best five bucks a true baseball fan can spend. Markus, the developer, assures us that there are some big changes coming for 2017, so for now Ill be glad play with fresh rosters. As it is, MLBM is an addicting experience. (Sometimes frustrating, too. To wit, my MLBM 2015 team that won the AL East seven years in a row but only one World Series win. Every other year we got knocked out in the Division Series.)

Excellent Game

Love the gameplay. Very addicting. You have total control over your team. Definitely worth every penny

Easy Simulation

Fun game. Would love "waivers" and minor league "options" for more of a challenge.

Problem With Blank Screen

I try to play it and screen goes blank. I have an iPad Pro with IOS 9.3.1. Please help!

Addicting Simulator

While the interface is not perfect, the game is addicting.

Ipad pro problems remain

Screen still turns black at startup. Very disappointing.

The Best @ What It Does, but needs an update

I love this game, as well as the full PC interpretation OOTP. Theres no other brand that does statistics-based baseball sims better. If youre new to the series, and you like baseball or simulation games then I heartily recommend this one. For old hats, this game is a carbon copy of last years game with some updated rosters and a few updated options (such as real ballpark pictures or trade difficulty options). This version seems a bit more responsive than last years, and the buggy touch recognition that I encountered has been fixed. I tend to get the opportunity to play the mobile version a lot more than the PC version, so I am a bit disappointed that this year is not much more than a roster update. The developers have stated that they will continue to add features to/maintain this years version throughout the next year (for the record I believe them), and apparently next years version will be freshly built from the ground up. I hope the mobile MLB Manager is a focus of developer effort in the coming years, because I love the game and I sincerely hope that it improves over this and next year (even though its already pretty excellent).
